Your kits are everything a physician's office needs in an emergency. My specialty is OR/ED, so I am very familiar with emergency kits. I feel very secure having a Banyan Stat Kit in our office.

Thanks!

I was flying on United Airlines from Chicago to Paris last December when I was called as "any doctor on board". I responded to a true respiratory arrest, and was so thrilled to see your complete Banyan set on the plane. The kit was well used, the patient did great, and all turned out well.

On a plane, more than a 500 cc bag would help as to support BP with fluids, as the plane had to land in Montreal. This took time and we almost ran out of fluid.

  Dear Banyan,

I wanted to drop you a note about my recent United Airlines flight to London.

Mid-Atlantic, a 51 year-old man’s heart stopped! It was just after dinner when this gentleman felt nauseated and sweaty. He made it into the lavatory where he went into asystole, with his body weight crashing the door open. A paramedic from London saw the incident from his seat, and was the first responder as a result. The flight attendant then came to awaken me from sleep as my seatmate told her I was a doctor. An ophthalmologist from Virginia also responded.

The patient’s vital signs and clinical condition were quite unstable for a time. The flight attendant had me follow her to the location of the Banyan emergency kit to see if what we needed was available. The Banyan kit had everything that was needed for a mobile ER! I was so impressed!

We used the accompanying AED for a rhythm strip, but did not have to defibrillate. We did start IV’s, and poured in Normal Saline to increase the patient’s blood pressure. The man was successfully resuscitated, and was conscious with stable vital signs when an ambulance met us on the runway at Heathrow an hour and 45 minutes later!!!

I have heard so many horror stories from my doctor colleagues about no equipment, not even stethoscopes, on flights when a doctor is asked to respond. Because of this, many have said they won’t even come forward because of the extreme liability of the situation. If all airlines had your kits, no doctor would ever say that again!

Literally, your product was life saving for this man. Your company saved a life with a little help from the three of us medics. I am so glad United was equipped, and they were also! Thank you to the Banyan team!

Sincerely,
L. Williams, M.D.

I am Team Leader for The Oregon Disaster Medical Team - a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization of volunteer healthcare professionals statewide who are committed to training and response to provide relief medical care in the event of a disaster. We represent Oregon in the National Disaster Medical System, and were deployed in the wake of the 9-11 terrorist attacks.

Our Stat Kit 600 allows us to have mobile advanced life support capability. This is particularly helpful when we are providing care in austere environments or at more than one site. We strive to travel with emergency equipment and medications with us at all times when deployed, in transit or during training exercises. The Stat Kit 600 provides a compact and mobile system to accomplish these goals.

Thank you for such a fine product.
